1) One thing that I found interesting in Persepolis was the art work it contained. The artist really used some graphic detail throughout the story, especially the part about how they torture people. There was also some explicit writing which really surprised me in this book, but combining the art and the writing really got the author's point across.
2) I actually enjoyed reading this book because it read fairly quickly because most of the graphics. It was a much different book than we have read before in this class, and I thought it was a great book to end on.
3) I think that Persepolis should be part of the curriculum because it is a much different read, especially from Jane Eyre. The graphics and writing combined really make this a good book to read for a college literature class.
I agree that the art was surprising. It took me off guard because the art is so soft looking and somewhat childish. and then the images could be so raw and harsh. I think that the combination between youthful art and adult words made this story incredibly interesting.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you that this book was a good one and easy to read, the easy part is probably why i liked it so much.
If we didn't have persepolis as a book i probably would've left the class feeling bad about my inability to read quickly and analyze well.
